Giving societies commemorate and thank our most loyal donors whose gifts make a difference in the lives of our students, faculty members and the entire University of Dayton community. Giving society members are key partners in building a culture of philanthropy at UD.
Learn About Our Five Giving Societies
Inspired by UD’s neighborhood porches and the sense of community they help create, the Front Porch Society recognizes everyone who makes annual gifts to the University for three or more consecutive fiscal years. Gifts can be in any amount and can be designated to any area of the University. Your gift every year makes a difference every day.
Membership Levels:
Kiefaber: 25+ consecutive fiscal years
Stonemill: 15-24 consecutive fiscal years
Lawnview: 6-14 consecutive fiscal years
Chambers: 3-5 consecutive fiscal years
Membership in the 1850 Society is a vote of confidence in the mission of University of Dayton, which was founded in 1850. This society recognizes donors who give $1,850 or more throughout the fiscal year.
Membership Levels:
Mary: $50,000+
Mission: $25,000-$49,999
Community: $10,000-$24,999
Inclusivity: $5,000-$9,999
Faith: $1,850-$4,999
In 1850, John Stuart transferred his 120-acre farm to the Marianists for a medal of St. Joseph and a promise of payment. Stuart’s belief in the Marianists and their vision for education changed the world. Members of the John Stuart Society share this bold vision with cumulative giving of $100,000 or more.

Medallion Circle: $100,000 – $499,999
Leo Meyer Society members follow in the footsteps of the pioneering priest who helped found the University and provide the funds necessary to offer outstanding educational opportunities for centuries to come by making a commitment to UD through their wills and other planned gifts.

Roesch: $2,500,000 – $4,999,999
Marie Therésè:: $1,000,000 – $2,499,999
Cana: $500,000 – $999,999
Holy Family: $100,000 – $499,999
Chapel: $5,000-$99,999
Champions & Scholars society members provide and enhance opportunities for more than 400 University of Dayton student-athletes on 17 teams through annual gifts to the Dayton Flyers athletics program. Members of this society enjoy several benefits as a result of their contribution.
